The Hot Tub is provided for your use and the water has been treated to ensure it is correctly balanced. If used following these instructions, there should be no need for additional maintenance visits. Hot tubs pose similar risks to swimming pools, as well as having their own dangers. Here are some hot tub safety rules that everyone should be aware of before using the tub.

The tub is to be used responsibly and is not to be used as a substitute wading pool by children. Allowing children to jump or dive into the water is not permitted under any circumstances. Children must not use the spa unsupervised at any time. No infants or toddlers in the spa.

Please shower before using the tub to remove make-up, sun-screen, insect repellent or any other oil-based products.

Only clean swimwear may be worn in the tub as the chemicals in the water will remove the coloured dyes found in ordinary clothing, causing them to leach into the water and turn it cloudy.

Prevent accidental drowning. Leave the hot tub cover on and latched when the spa is unsupervised.

Do not consume alcohol, narcotics or medication before or during hot tub use. The heat of the water speeds up the effects of alcohol and can cause sleepiness, dizziness and unconsciousness – which can result in drowning and death.

PLEASE, DO NOT TAKE GLASS INTO THE HOT TUB!  Plastic alternatives are available in each cottage.

  • Do not use the hot tub if you are taking any medication that makes you drowsy or affects your circulation; if necessary, check with your doctor. Pregnant women and the elderly should also consult their doctor before using a hot tub.
  • Do not stay too long in the sauna. Recommended time is up to 15 minutes.
  • No smoking is permitted in or around the tub.
  • People with cuts or external infections should not use the tub. Overuse or abuse will also cause the tub water to turn cloudy and may render the tub unusable.
  • Do not sit on the hot tub cover.
  • Do not use any electrical appliances near/in the hot tub.

Tubs that require excessive cleaning will be emptied and cleaned at the expense of the renter, and may deny you the use of the tub for at least 24-hours. We check our hot tub and spa area twice a day when in use. On some occasions, you may not be able to use the tub for a short time (1-2 hours) after it has been serviced. We apologise for this inconvenience, but it is necessary to keep the tubs sanitised and looked after.

HOT TUB CONTROLS!!

  1. There are two pumps – each switched on and off by an individual button on the control panel (JET1 and JET2). They will switch themselves off automatically after 15 minutes.
  2. In addition the direction of the jets and the introduction of air bubbles into the jets is control by the large silver knobs on the side of the hot tub. These can be stiff but please do not force.
  3. The temperature is set at 38.5 degrees and is locked. Please do not try to change it.
