The Tackhouse

This is a cozy and warm cottage with a gentle contemporary feel to it.

It has two bedrooms with superking size beds that can be turned into two single ones, and ensuite bathrooms.  One is a small shower room and the other a large family bathrooom with a shower and a bathtub.

Kitchen, dining area as well as the living room are all open plan with a wood burning stove at its center. The whole cottage has a lovely and gentle colour theme running through it and you will straight away feel at home.

The Tackhouse is part of two cottages located in the cobbled courtyard where two cars can be easily parked. And just like Stable Yard cottage, The Tackhouse is positioned in the middle of the village and close to all the amenities but tucked away enough to be secluded and private.

This cottage is pet and dog free!

The kitchen, living room and a dining room are all open plan. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, microwave and the dishwasher. The Dolce Gusto coffee machine with some complimentary pods is provided as is the cafetiere for the ground coffee. The dining area with a dining table and 4 chairs can be found to the right of the kitchen island.
The rest of the room is occupied by the living space. Enough sofas that comfortably seat 4 people who can enjoy the calming properties of the wood burning stove. The cupboard under the Smart TV holds a good selection of board games and toys and children books.

Just off the kitchen, underneath the stairs, there is a little utility cupboard with the washing machine/dryer and opposite the cupboard there is a small toilet room. No need to go upstairs!!!

Both bedrooms in The Tackhouse are extremely comfortable, cozy and warm. They are located upstairs just off the little staircase. The larger ‘family’ bedroom has enough space for a cot or crib that can be ordered at the time of the booking. It has en suite family bathroom, with a bath tub as well as the shower. The smaller bedroom has a spacious super king size bed which can convert into two single beds thus making the bedroom a twin room. This room has also en suite shower room.

The rooms are pleasantly furnished mixing modern, with traditional and  slightly quirky.

The Tackhouse and its front garden are part of a small enclosed walled garden, sheltered from the wind and benefiting from the late morning and afternoon sun. The garden is a simple grassy area with a very young cherry tree at its centre which will hopefully one day produce some delicious mouth watering cherries (fingers crossed). The terrace that is part of the garden and runs along the front of the cottage is a perfect place for relaxing with cup of tea or a glass of wine.

So lovely to stay in such well considered but not formulaic accommodation, great location for accessing the north and east coasts and inland sites. Thank you for all your thoughtful touches during our stay.
